FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What happens during the initial 15 minute telephone session?

The complimentary initial telephone session gives you an chance to ask questions and to decide if you would like to work with me in the privacy of my Bryn Mawr, PA office.  It also helps me get a sense of why you are seeking therapy and what you want to get out of it.  If we’re a good fit, we will schedule your first session and I will e-mail you the paperwork to be completed and brought to your first session.

I have seen therapists before, but it did not work.  Why should I try again?

Research strongly suggests that one of the best indicators of therapeutic success is a good fit between the client and the therapist.  I have my own style and approach, informed by my training and past experiences. (Even the fact that you've read this far into my website suggests that we may click.)  I invite you to reach out to me for an initial complementary fifteen minute conversation.

How many sessions will I need and how frequently will we meet?

The number of sessions largely depends on the types (and number) of issues we are tackling together.

You’ll meet weekly with me for the first month or so in the privacy and comfort of my conveniently-located Bryn Mawr office.  I am also available via secure, web-based video sessions. After our first few sessions, you and I will decide together the frequency that makes sense to help you achieve your goals for psychotherapy.

Some clients obtain their goals in just a handful of sessions. Others remain in therapy for much longer.  Some are addressing life-altering issues.  Others identify new goals or determine that the therapy space aids in their continued personal growth after the resolution of the issue that initially brought them to therapy.  Regardless, I am committed to a dialogue with you about the therapeutic process to ensure that you are getting as much as possible out of our work together.

Where are you located?

My office is in a residential neighborhood close to the Haverford Reserve, near the corner of Darby and Sproul Roads in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. There is ample free and off-street parking.  I am also available to work with Pennsylvania residents via teletherapy.

Do you accept insurance?

No.  My fees are $200 a session.  I offer limited sliding scale appointments to those for whom my standard fee presents a significant financial burden. I accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express).

Of course, I am happy to provide you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

Do you have additional questions? Contact me today, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
